Hello
I am at my wits end here, I have a client with a windows 2000 server.
Suddenly this machine will basically scrawl to a stop and the desktop will
become unresponsive, you can still access the shares, but you can't do
anything on the desktop. There is only the backup software Veritas running
in the thing.
We have formatted the machine and reinstalled 2000 server.
There are no error messages in the event log .. just that the machine was
rebooted unexpectedly (as you have no choice but to cycle the power).
Even using a remote shutdown command from an XP prof client will not reboot
it (well that does work sometimes, if we send it early enough in the
process)
I would think this has to be a hardware issue, but wouldn't 2000 blue screen
if this was the case ?
Windows has all the updates as does the backup software.
Its very strange and just started happening out of the blue.
Any help at all would be extremely helpful.
Thanks
Jon
