Error Message: Windows could not start because the following file is missing
or corrupt: \Winnt\System32\Config\Systemced

I was working in the registry and did a backup before I did any changes. I
was having problems with Earthlink mail box and uninstalled all of my
Earthlink and then went to the registry and deleted any occurences of
Earthlink. I then exited and went back to the operating screen. I then
tried to install Earthlink again. I clicked on something, then my computer
rebooted to the above error message. I went to MS Support and found article
269075 which gives me causes and a resolution. I'm a bit nervous to proceed,
as I'm afraid I'll do something to make it worse! This is the my computer
that I use for my work and I'm REALLY stuck! Any ideas? thx in advance,
Chuck

Hello Chuckles in need... Chuckles in,

It also exists this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306038

and i used it very often in windows 2000 without any problem. The only thing
i changed was to use a BartPE disk instead of the recovery console to change
the files.

Best regards
