Installed without a hitch. But Windows 2000 Pro if frozen at the splash
screen. Even froze at Starting Windows in Safe Mode. Help, please.

I'm not sure exactly where you're freezing... but usually I see that as
a storage driver issue.

How do I uninstall the driver? Windows stops loading at the splash screen
and the same thing happens in safe mode.

That can get very tricky. First, you have to know which driver is
causing the problem. Standard Windows drivers are usually VERY
reliable, but sometimes third party (and Windows Update provided)
drivers can be problematic.

In circumstances like this, I tend to use a BartPE/Ultimate Boot CD for
Windows Boot CD to boot up and examine the files in
c:\windows\system32\drivers - looking for .sys files with dates that are
newer. If you don't know what to look for you can mess things up FAR
more. If you can display the drivers you have there, including date and
time stamps, I might be able to help you.

Just remember, this is my suspician based on the information provided so
far and my experience - it's POSSIBLE that your problem is NOT storage
driver related and even possible that it's a hardware issue... but I
would probably put odds at 2 out of 3 that it's storage driver related.

Yeah, it's the driver for the ATA controller card. I had a dual doot system
XP and 2000. I wanted to format the second drive (2K). I did not go as
planned. Now I need to reinstall the card and the drives. That too is not
going as planned. I have the 2K drive connected as primary. If I tried to
configure the drive w/o the drivers, the drive is not recognized. When I
try to configure using driver, the drive is recognized, but Windows does not
load completely

Try using older versions of the driver - or newer versions.
