Win 2000 French OS ?Convert

A friend asked me if I could change her computer OS, the computer is a
Toshiba Satellite Pro 4300.
She got the computer from a relative in Quebec, It has a Windows 2000
Pro French OS.
She asked me if the OS can be converted to english, or would we have
to do a clean install of an XP operating System.

Any assistance or advice will be most appreciated.

You need a clean installation of Windows.
