I have been using Win 2000 pro for quite some time. I am now using it on
a laptop, which configures as such P4-M 2.0G, 512M, 40G HD, 32 M Video on
board not shared.
I would like to change the appearance of my desktop, etc. I know I can
change appearance settings through win 2000 pro, using onboard settings
panel. I have heard of Windowblinds, customize, and other window skins, etc.
I hear they are a system resource sponge.
Any recommendations/advice?

Hey mcprodriver,

If you are worried about resource usage, themes are usually not the
way to go. This is why most people I know disable the themes even
when integrated tightly within Windows XP. If you add an external
application that runs themes it is likely not to be in the best
interest of your memory and CPU time. I used to use WindowsBlinds
back on the old Win98 and I ot rid of it, becuase it slowed the
computer down to a crawl. On the other hand, your laptop is alot more
powerful than that computer was.

Hope this helps.
