Just discovered on Willowpond's website that their 16-bit
MediaRack is now freeware, but unsupported. Lemme tell
you about this small suite of executables.
The entire zipped package is a 417K download.
Read about it here: http://www.willowpond.com/willowpond/wp_software.shtml
Download it here:
http://www.acord-92.si/ftp/Mediaforte/soundcards/opti/mediarack.zip
It requires only expanding in a folder of your choice.
It doesn't write anything important to the registry.
It comes with:
A .MID file player.
A CDROM music player (as well as plays .MP3 files, singly or by the list)
An Volume/Equalizer unit.
A .WAV recorder (unlimited time), with choosable Bit-rates/Frequency
A Talking digital clock.
The REAL delightful discovery was ... the recorder will record "What You
Hear"
out of your speakers, and that includes streaming stuff from direct off the
net; or
play a favorite list of .MID files while recording at the same time to a
..WAV file.
You can use Nero or some other burner later to relegate your saves to a
normal
CDROM music disc.
This tiny, tiny suite of tools is only 16-bit programming, but it works. It
works.
At least on my Win ME and Win98se machines. Further .. it was freeware.
made available by Willowpond themselves.
