I'm piddling with an old 486 pc that has Win 95 on it. It's part of a
collection of donations for our church youth group.
Every time I turn around, I get an error message that a .dll file is
missing. I dutifully go home, download the file from a master DLL web site,
go back, and load it into System and System32 folders. Problem is, as soon
as I do that, another one pops up missing.
One solution is to run a Win 95 Restore disk. Don't think we have one, but
we're searching.
Next question is if I can get away loading WinXP on the old clunker? I have
a feeling it won't fly. If no one knows for sure, either way, I can at
least try it. Nothing to lose. Maybe in the meantime we can come up with a
Win95, Win98, or WinME restore disk.
