Hi,

This is what I hope to accomplish with three identical computers in
different locations, running XP Pro and OL 2000 IMO on each:

After I receive my new Linux server (being built) for shared data storage
which will be accessed via internet, I would like a single .pst to reside on
the server to be accessed by all the computers so everything will remain in
sync. Right now only one computer will be in operation at a time (me only).
I was told that this may be problematic, but did not get the details as to
why.

Is this a smart move or am I asking for problems? Can you lend any
suggestions how I can make this work out?

Thanks,

Mitchell

You can't share a pst-file. Also accessing a pst-file over a network (let
alone the Internet) is not recommended and supported practise by Microsoft.
You'll need a mailserver capable of sharing information (like Exchange with
Outlook)

OK, that is acceptable, so here is the next question...

I am not familiar with Exchange with Outlook. What do I do, and how do I
learn to make my question a reality?

Any leads will be helpful.

Well keep in mind that Exchange is a mailserver that runs on a Windows based
machine

Thanks for the reply, Roady. It certainly looks as though Exchange
integrates with Outlook, but at $2000.00 for my 3 computers, it seems like
over-kill. Is there a simpler and less expensive way (besides import/export)
to keep my 3 pst's in sync?

Thanks, Mitchell
