No. But then I don't know of any computer that will run everything
perfectly.

(But yours sounds more than competent to run any curent app or game,
assuming it's configured properly. ;>)

You might have trouble running the latest Solaris with a full enterprise
installation of Oracle but otherwise, it should bhe ok for running most
desktop apps and games :p

nope, for that you need a pentium 6 500ghz with 2tb ram, and an ati 9999999
2gig mega pro card

You didn't mention what motherboard. Avoid those VIA chipsets. I always buy
Asus because they are the best

Just to be clear: ASUS makes boards with VIA chipsets. For Intel procs I
always go ASUS mobo w/ Intel chipset. For AMD procs I have had great results
with ASUS mobo nForce2 chipset.

Yes that, and atleast 300 quantrillion byte Qb harddrive, and a heatsink
made in pure gold and on-board cryogenics to reduce cpu heat.. :) Don't
forget the nuclear selv-contained UPS power supply. Just in case skynet
nukes start falling from sky and there is no electricity. :)

For real, it's a nice system. SHOULD run almost all games\apps nicely in
1280*1024 or above with no problem..

Hehe, thats not gonna work. You will still need a motherboard, case, PSU,
hard-drives etc. . .:P

Only as long as you only run up to DOS 6.22 on it. Maybe even only DOS
3. As soon as you install Window$, it's gonna crash...

:)

Actually looks like a very nice PC, depending on the MB, etc...

I have what you want, only I am using an AMD processor, the Athlon 2800 + XP
(Barton core). It will cost you less and will run everything faster, with
the exception of mpeg video encoding. So, if you are not going to use this
machine for video encoding, take the money you were going to spend on the
Pentium chip, and spend it on an AMD 64 bit processor and good ASUS
motherboard.

but will it the doom3 alpha ?

Now,.. that's future stuff you're talking about. How can it run a game
that's alpha is not even been completed yet.. .Oh well, have to play UT2015
untill doom3 demo is out.

Tried one of those. Wouldn't run my old DOS games...

how about just get an Athlon XP 2500+ and overclock it to 3200+ for 90
dollars? I've heard Abit's NF7-S makes it stupidly easy to do it, even using
stock cooling. That's what i'm getting in a week or two.

By the way, what would a stock 2500+ be equivelant to in Intel? And, what
would a 2500+ overclocked to 3200+ be equivelant to in Intel? I know about
the number ratings with AMD but they aren't always accurate.

How do you rank ABIT in comparison to ASUS?

Both sell good hardware, but the philosphies are different. Asus goes for
reliability out of the box for the average Joe. Abit offers the most and
best bios tweaking options for overclockers and hardcore system tuners, but
you can get in trouble if you don't know what you're doing with all those
settings.

You can't go wrong with either, but I've been using Abit boards for years
with exceptional results.

I'd get an AMD64 3000 CPU, it costs about the same with an MSI Nforce3
board... and run circles around it... hell, it'll outrun the $900+
Intel EE 3.2ghz chip.

Check out Tom's Hardware for their benchmark tests on all recent CPU's.
AMD's are equal to or greater than Intel's cpu's, named rating (AMD) to
actual clock speed (Intel). The only area where Intel has a definite edge
is in video encoding and Quake engine based games.
