Chris

I've just built a PC and powerup is a little underwhelming. The case fan and
the CPU fan spin for about 1 second and then stop. Its an AMD K7 processor -
but the power supply has PENTIUM on a large label. Is this power supply
compatible with a K7?
Any input appreciated.

Thanks Ari - I'll check that.

Yes, it is. The power supply interfaces with the motherboard, not the
CPU. On the other hand, if the power supply is insufficient (not enough
wattage) then this could be the cause of your problems. Also, you may
need to use the jumper on the motherboard to reset to the system
defaults and make sure that if the multiplier and fsb are set via
jumpers on the motherboad that these are correctly set.

HTH,

Ari
