Will OC'ing changes be mistaken for hardware changes?

Just installed XP Pro on a clean system. Everything is working fine. I have
not yet done the WPA. I do the overclocking thing, but wasn't sure if
changing processor speeds while optimizing the configuration would cause XP
to mistakenly think there have been hardware changes. Thanks in advance.

It shouldn't, WPA looks at the product numbers in firmware.

BTW, with 3+ GHz 800 MHz mobo is over-clocking really that
much of an improvement considering that it may be unstable?

I'm using a 2.6C. I'll admit that on the face of it, we've gotten to a point
where oc'ing probably doesn't buy you that much anymore. But I've been doing
this a long time (in computer years) so I just can't deny the opportunity.

And if done carefully - and with good components - an oc'd system is no less
stable than a similar stock system. At least in my experience.
