When i try to shut down my computer or restart my computer, it will not do
it...I am having to turn it off manually...any suggestions as to why???

To fix the shutdown problem, try these patches:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/shutdown.reg

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/autoendall.vbs

Usage: Download files to your computer and simply double-
click it so that it would automatically get installed.

NOTE: Norton anti-virus software might warn you of
a "malicious" script, this is normal if you have "Script
Safe" or similar technology enabled.
I recommend you to choose "Authorize entire script" option
next Action.

Now, verify if the problem is resolved. However, if the
problem still persists then, the next step would be to
disable unwanted startup programs. Perform below steps:

Run MSConfig, perform the following steps:

1. Click Start and select Run.
2. Type "MSConfig" (with out quotes) and press Enter.
3. Click the Startup tab.
4. From the list, deselect unnecessary programs.
5. Click OK.
6. Restart the system.

NOTE: To restore any of the removed items, repeat the
above-
mentioned steps and select the checkboxes for
the designated applications.

If the issue still persists then, visit following
Microsoft website:
