No. It's a new computer and I'm happily tweaking away before I install anyWhy have you disabled System Restore? Was it causing a problem of any
kind?
Thanks. See other post.Tom Porterfield said:

No. It's a new computer and I'm happily tweaking away before I install any
personal files.
I'm trying to get the best performance out of it - so various options have
been disabled.
As to the shutdown/reboot problem - the only odd thing that I can remember
happening was
when I fired up a CD-RW for the first time last night and was asked to
install the Adaptec UDF Reader. In the meantime I have unchecked
*automatically restart* in the Start Up and Recovery Settings and then got
an error message on shutdown, which included...
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
and the error code:
***STOP:
0x0000000A (OxOOOOO2CC, OxOOOOOOFF, OxOOOOOOOO, Ox804E3B58)

Excellent. Thanks!
