Will not Install

I've just joined MS Empower and as a database consultant wanted to give
Business Contacts Manager a whirl especially as it will integrate with the
Accounting software, however I can't seem to get the wretched thing to
install. I've tried it on a new laptop with vista home premium and office
ultimate. Setup Failed please check log file. Then tried it on my desktop
Vista Ultimate with Office 2007 Enterprise.

Does anyone know how to get this to install, I've tried with accounting
first removed accounting and SQL and then installing it and I still can't
seem to get it to work.

I downloaded the version through the MSDN thing.

Any help gratefully received.

Check your log file. I had the same issue, and found the problem was that
Vista locked a file that the installer was trying to modify. I believe that
file was MAPISVC.INF located in the System 32 subfolder. I had to install a
freeware program called Unlocker to change the name of the file, and then
change it back. After that, BCM installed just fine.

I had the same problem, but I am on WinXP and do not have that .inf file in
Windows\System32...

Thoughts?

Generally a reboot should unlock files. Unless something like the
search indexer or activesync service is always locking that file.
