Hi have you tried running the antispy in safe mode this
might help if you havent(reboot and keep tapping F8
untill you see the option screen and choose safe mode)
This will stop any third party programs loading up which
might be causing a problem.
Its abit of a grey area but i think it could be malware
and unless you installed it from there site i would
remove it.It looks like spyware to me and with MS
freezing at this registry file it makes it even more
suspicious.
It could be this:
File: wdskctl.exe
Name: IEPluginDesktopToolbar MFC Application
If you still have problems then reboot and download these:

Update the definitions and then go back to safe mode and
scan using these
This could be more serious than adware though unless you
know you installed it as there is a trojan that uses the
same registry area
Troj/Waltun-A
Troj/Waltun-A is a popup adware web search Trojan.
When first run, Troj/Waltun-A will display a small Window
with a web search dialog box. The adware Trojan does not
provide a working uninstall option.
In order to run automatically each time Windows is
started, Troj/Waltun-A sets the following registry entry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
wdskctl = <path to Trojan>
Troj/Waltun-A will set several entries under the
following registry branch:
HKCU\Software\dsktb\
So if this is the problem i would advise this assuming
the other methods havent got rid of it,go back to normal
mode
First: Turn off Windows XP System Restore (Start,Right
click my computer,Properties,then system restore and
disable and apply)
Run a online virus scan at one of these places

Download and run CCleaner (removes unused and temporary

And just follow the display instructions it will remove
and unused files and temp files and help your clear any
malicious files left over
And hopefully it will have found it and removed
it,hopefully it can be removed in safe mode by ms antispy
as it must be detecting it to keep freezing
If they sort the problems then switch your system restore
back on you will need to be in normal mode for the online
scans but the rest would probably be best running in safe
mode to prevent and third party items loading and
blocking the removal
