For some reason, IE6 has stopped displaying JPEG images
on web pages. Yahoo seems to be the worst. All you get
are the X's. I have a second machine identical to this
one and there are no issues with it. I read about a
hotfix that might correct the problem, but can't seem to
find it. Any ideas??

First, make sure if the "Show Pictures" option is turned on in Advanced tab
of Internet Options. If it is already on, refer this MSKB article:

Pictures Are Not Displayed on Web Sites in Internet Explorer

Image Files Do Not Appear When You View a Web Page with Internet Explorer 6 SP1:

This problem is also seen in computers where Norton Internet Security | Zone Alarm Ad-blocks is turned on.

Yahoo also! I thought I deleted some critical file or

problem either!
