Will NAV 2004 work under Windows NT??

I support a church network of NT boxes that are working well, and
there's no pressing desire to upgrade to W2K/XP. They do, however,
want to improve their virus protection situation, and the Symantec
site does not state that NT is supported under NAV 2004. Can anyone
verify the most recent version of NAV to provide NT support?

Thanks,
David Whitney

Windows NT 4.x has reached the end of it's life and is no longer being
supported by Microsoft. Many (most?) independent software developers
have followed Microsoft's lead dropped support for it as well.

You could try one of the smaller anti-virus software developers like
Frisk Software <http://www.f-prot.com> or ESET <http://www.nod32.com> or
F-Secure <http://www.f-secure.com>. To the best of my knowledge their
products still support Windows NT 4.0 but for how much longer no one
long knows.

HTH.

Thanks for the information everyone. I never bothered to check into
this issue in depth because I have either XP, 2K, or Linux boxes at
home, and I'm not particularly worried about virus vulnerability for
the lone NT box remaining.

Our church is in one of those positions such that, for them, NT is
more than serviceable, and the sentiment that it has "past its life"
or is "antique" just don't ring true for them. It handles their small
network, church records system, program preparation, print service,
and correspondence very efficiently.

I'll take a look at the other AV vendors listed here.

Many thanks,
David

AVG free still supports NT4.0.
