I have XP Pro and wanting to run the 1994 version of Microsoft Bob. It is a
pre-Win95 program that runs wins32. It was designed to run under Windows
3.1.

Is it safe to install on WinXP Pro or will it harm my system?

Thanks!

Try it, but use Compatibility Mode starting with the installation and pay
attention to the screen resolution and number of colors.

I'm not familiar with that particular game but some older games used to
address hard drives directly for speed. Of course in those days we
didn't have FAT32 or NTFS on our PC's.
I wouldn't think pre-Win95 games would run even in compatibility mode.
Let us know how you go.

Microsoft Bob wasn't a "game." It was more a front-end program by which you
did things on the computer by clicking on "things" in an environment of a
den or whatever. It was supposed to assist people by letting them click on
familiar items to do tasks. Supposedly. 8-) Do a Google search for
Microsoft Bob some time. It was a rather interesting concept at the time,
but a total flop.

Eh, classic implies some degree of value... saw MS Bob as an insult when it
came out. Still do.
