I've had problems with malware which has stopped me being able to log into
XP. I've run Malwarebytes and Spybot search and destroy through using safe
mode and it found quite a few infected files. Now it is cleaned out it still
won't enable me to log into windows and i'm wondering if that is still due to
a malware issue or if it's something else.

It'll say 'logging on' then 'logging off' straight away. How can i fix this
please or do i need to still address a malware problem?

Cheers

You still have malware, IMHO. You could try using David Lipman's MULTI_AV.

Toni, you have run both Programs in Safe Mode, as you can not log into Normal
Mode, to update them.
Reboot, and go into "Safe Mode with Networking".
Now, you have internet access, and can update them.
Update Malwarebytes and Spybot Search & Destroy.
Now rescan.

With Malwarebytes, click the radio button to do "Perform Full Scan"
