Will data on 2nd HDD be saved?

I have two physical HDD's in my system, and have moved
all my data to the second drive. My question is if I do a
clean install of Windows XP Pro on the first HDD, will
the data on the second drive still be there when the
install is completed? It's probably a dumb question, but
I really need to know. Thanks!

Hi Mark,

Unless you tell the install to format the disks as part of the setup then
data (except that which is overwritten by the install) should remain on both
drives.

If you are nervous, you could always disconnect the drive and re-connect
once the install is completed... :)

There are, of course, no guarentees with this type of thing, but if you pay
good attention during the install you should be safe.

I hope this helps & good luck with the install.

The data will be safe, unless you install XP on that disk.

But, to be safe, disconnect the signal cable from the second disk, install
XP, then re-connect the cable. of course, all inside-the-box changes should
be done with the PC off and usinging an anti-static wrist strap (i.e., wire
from you to the PC case).
