How about AIW9200?

I planned to buy AIW9600 when it came out but decided not to after I learned
it doesn't have DVI interface.

I didn't even know that there was a AIW 9600XT in the works.
(I too avoided the 9600 AIW for the same reason)

ATI just annouced today that there will be 3 more AIW cards. AIW9600XT sells
for $299. AIW9200 sells for $199.

Thanks!

This is certainly good news. (Especially if it supports DVI). It's a
few weeks too late for me though. :-(

Correction: the price of the three new AIW cards are:
AIW 9600XT: $299
AIW 9600 : $199
AIW 9200 : $149

The older cards still on sale are:
AIW 9800 Pro: $399
AIW 9600 Pro: $249

I have seen AIW9600 at my local Best Buy. Since this is week 1, Best Buy
prices them at the manufacture suggest retail price $199. I can see they
don't have DVI-D interface.

No DVI again.
I guess they don't learn.

(Or maybe it's just not important to may folks.) Who knows.

Those friggin' Canadians, i hope they freeze in hell. As someone who
was waiting for DVI in a mid-range AIW card this pisses me off. I am
e-mailing them and telling them not only am i NOT going to buy an ATI
product but i plan on getting the word out to various newsgroups i own
that ATI is run by a bunch of clueless morons and to take their money
elseware.

I went through this many years ago when I had a pair of AIW cards that
were based on the Rage Pro and later the Rage 128 chipsets. (These
were top end cards in their day.) The problem was that the ATI
drivers sucked back then. They never updated them for newer OSes and
they were "hnstable" at best. I switched to nVidia for a long period.
This 9600 Pro and 9600XT that I now own is my first ATI card in years.
In some ways they seem to have improved as a company, but in other
ways ... well ...
