I have a new P4P800VM w/ a P4 3.2 Ghz. The retail
Intel CPU cooling fan is so loud that it sounds like
a lawnmower..

So I'm thinking I'll try a quieter aftermarket CPU
cooler.

Will a Zalman CNP7000-Cu fit on my P4P800VM??

Any help appreciated.

Your board is not here :) means it should fit :)

Though i would get some more advice to make sure.

Hope this helps.

This is mostly parenthetical but it's sometimes necessary to consider
the case as well as the motherboard when deciding on this particular
heatsink.
I don't have that board so I'm not sure how close the CPU socket is to
the edge. If it's close enough that the 7000 would overhang the edge,
however, then you also have to have sufficient clearance between the
motherboard and the PSU for the heatsink to fit. In that were the
case, the answer depends on the enclosure. For example there were
some early users who could mount the 7000 on their motherboard but
then couldn't get the mobo into an Antec Sonata because the PSU was
immediately adjacent to the mobo.
