I apologise for repeating this request but the previous
help I received was incorrect, basically I have an icon in
my control panel entitled WildTangent, I want to get rid
of it, its very annoying. Ive checked the registry but
there is no entry for this icon anywhere. can anybody help
me?
 
Have you tried,

go to the control pannel
select add/Remove programs
find wild tangent in the list
click on it
click the "change/Remove" or "remove only" button

I had that hit my system a few weeks ago. I had to
delete it in my Programs List. I also have Ad Aware &
Spybot and running both of those programs found all the
registry keys and files for it, too.

If you haven't already tried that, go ahead. Taht was
they only way I got rid of it.
