hello all, i hope i am in the right place for my Question, i have a pansonic
tough book, and an old gigabyte desktop, and a recently built amd quad
gigabyte desktop, all working fine, i also have a wireless netgear router
which i use to connect the toughbook, untill recently the toughbook was able
to connect to the router automatically on boot up, it no longer does that,
however it does find the network and gives me the option to choose the
network to connect to, when i choose my network i get a pop up screen that
says general setting and my profile and network SSID, then i hit next and i
get another pop up that says the profile i am trying to connect with already
exsists, so i click next and the profile is asking for a password , i dont
ever rememeber creating a profile with a password, my question how do i
remove that profile,

Whew, are all your punctuation keys broken except the comma? :-)

Try resetting the router to factory default. Not knowing what model you
have, I would suggest checking your manual or on Netgear's support site for
the instructions. On my WGR614, it's a simple matter of holding the reset
button on the back in for 10 seconds. The default username is admin and the
default password is password.

sorry about my puntuation, lol i also have a WGR614 router, how does
resetting my router help my toughbook profile not ask for a password ?. when
i also have dell laptop that is not askin for a password to my network,
Thanks in advance.

I misunderstood (easy to do). I thought the router was asking for a password
when configuring it.
Is the toughbook asking for a password, or is it asking for the passphrase
to connect (assuming that you have some kind of security set up)? Try going
into wireless connections and deleting that connection, then reboot and when
it's discovered again, enter the passphrase.

Good Eveling i removed the my prefered connection and robooted the toughbook
latop, upon reboot windows network connection found my network and asked for
my network key, inserted my KEY i am now connected to the prefered network
and windows is still tryin to ACCUIRE( for hours now) my routers IP address
even tho it says its connected.
Thanks
