Anatoly said:Hi, it's my first experience with wireless networking.
I acquired D-Link DIR-400 and successfully connected two computers to the
Internet through Ethernet cables.
Now I'm trying to connect the third computer to to the Internet using WiFi.
My network is present in the list of wireless networks on the third computer
but each time I enter the network key of my network, the program fails to
enable wireless connection without any message.
I tried to disable wireless security but the result was the same.
What do I do wrong?
Thanks in advance,
AK
1. Are you sure that the wireless radio in your computer is turned on?
Many laptops with built-in wifi allow the radio to be turned off to save
power. Read the documentation that came with your computer for further
details.
2. Are you sure that you're attempting to connect to *your* network?
That is, did you change the SSID in the router from the default to
something unique (but not your last name or address)?
3. Exactly *how* did you disable wireless security?
4. Is this (http://tinyurl.com/rlhcx) what you see for the list of
networks? If so, does "Unsecured wireless network" appear below the
name of your network? If this screen is not what you see, you're
probably using a non-Windows wireless configuration utility on your
third computer. Please identify what utility you're using and/or
describe what you see in as much detail as possible.
