Hi,

All of a sudden her USB interfaces no longer work. They were working
about 3 weeks ago but she doesn't remember if she did anything (all
Windows Updates are up to date). To test it, I just inserted a couple
USB thumb drives and they were not recognized by Windows.

She is running Windows XP Media Edition and also has ActiveSync
installed for her Dell Pocket PC.

Any ideas?

These aren't the most vital interfaces, hope the rest of your wife
still is usable... be careful with testing...

you might try uninstalling the usb devices and allowing the system to reconfigure them again to see if it will help.

using Device Manager, locate the USB section and for each USB hub, right click and click uninstall.
when done, shut down the computer, wait about 3-5 minutes.
power up the computer again and allow the system to locate and re-install the usb device.
when done try your mem sticks again.

Tried it. Thanks. The 3 ones in the front still do not work, only
the three in the back do.

In the Device Manager, I still get (for USB connectors):

Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
2 Standard Open HCD USB Host Controllers
2 unknown devices
USB Mass Storage Device
3 USB Root Hubs
