I'm currently experiencing somewhat random errors when I do two things on my
PC:

1. when attempting to undertake a full system scan using Norton Internet
Security 2008, I get either the Stop 0x0000000A (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL) or
STOP 0x000000D1 (USBPORT.SYS) This can occur at any point during the scan,
but always occurs at some point during the scan.

2. when browsing the internet, a Stop 0x0000008E (win32k.sys) or a Stop
0x000000D1 (DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL). These error don't seem to occur
after any particular function or action.

I've made all the obvious checks (hardware connections, up to date drivers,
potential viruses, etc, etc, and tried some obvious actions (system restore),
but had no success in resolving this. All other functions and programs seem
to work fine and without problems. The troubles seemed to start after
installing IE7and escalated after installing Norton internet Security 2008.

Is there some action I can take that is less radical than a reinstall of XP?
Any advice appreciated.
