wierd problems with IE6 and XPpro

Hi, hope someone can help.

A neighbor of mine is having several problems with his PC.

1) Internet Explorer 6 only works eith the "original
login". Every other login fails to launch IE6... however
if you go to windows explorer and type in an URL the
pages load normally.

2) the error that is returned from MS points to a web
page.. that also fails to launch. Again if you type in
the URL into WE it comes up without any problems. The
Error that is returned lays blame on the "XUIPTER"
toolbar. This toolbar in not installed.. as far as I can
tell.

3) I can not get his "My Documents" folder to appear on
the Desktop or in the Start Menu.

If we can not resolve this soon, we will be forced to
reload the entire system. He uses this PC for work ans
has a "butt load" of files to backup.

Please help if you can.
