wierd problem -ATT cannot solve!!

On windows xp on a brand new laptop, I installed my
microsoft outlook. It keeps asking for the path to
my "postoffice" (either with exchange server or with
mircosoft mail)
The connection manager works fine - Outlook does not
show "accounts" on the tools menu.

I am really up the creek without ..... and ATT Help line
refuses to helP
Anyeone out there who can help?
 
Start with a new mail profile (do not copy it) and reconfigure it correctly.
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles
