As soon as I saw Microsoft's announcement of new updates a couple of days
ago I downloaded them onto my XP SP2 machine (2.4G, 265M RAM). Since then,
I've had this strange message. It happens every time I turn the computer on
(I'm on dial-up so I power down between sessions). It says "Generic Host
Process for Win32 Services encountered a problem and needed to close". It
gives an event time as the last time I turned the machine off. It asks me to
send a report to MS, which I did the first time it happened but not since.
The machine works fine otherwise - shuts down and starts fine, no problems
as far as I can see. I did a Google on this and saw some comments about
possible spyware, so I ran my Spybot but to no effect.
It's annoying and a little worrying. Any comments or suggestions?
