Hi,

I a Windows 2000 PC whose shares are protected with a Administrator
password. When I connect to this Win2K PC through my LAN Win98 PC, I
have to enter the password to get access to my Win2K share.

But when I connect to my Win2K machine through the Internet through a
Win98 machine, it connects directly without any password ! All shares
are open ! Why is this happening, I dont understand. Any help would
be appreciated

I am using TCP/IP and NetBuie protocols.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,
Derek

do you mean that you are connecting through VPN to your machine? or
just when you are browsing the internet. which system is connected to
the internet?, are you using NAT? do you have any user account that is
the same on both systems and has access to your win2k system's shares?
