wierd CR-RW boot up

I just installed identical CD-RWs, speed: 52X32X52, one the master,
the other the slave. The BIOS reports master as 52X32X52, but the
slave as 52X24X52. Is that normal?

It doesn't matter.

Important is that it recognized there's a drive and that your burning
app supports the correct burn speed for each.

The speed the BIOS identifies is read from the CDROM's EPROM, you
might consider upgrading the firmware on that drive if possible, but I
would more likely do so for other issues than just a BIOS
misidentification.
