Whenever I send a message it automaticly deletes it from my 'sent' folder.
How can I switch it so it stays in the sent folder?

Thanks,

Which program? Not sure what "Widows hotmail" refers to.
There is no "Sent" folder in Windows Mail. Please clarify.

I mean in windows hotmail

This newsgroup (forum) deals mainly with the Windows Mail program.
I'm not sure where you go for help with Hotmail.

Prior to sending a mail in Hotmail, the compose window has an option to retain a copy in the 'Sent' folder. If its not selected, the message will never be stored in the Sent folder.

Note: Hotmail will dump the Sent folder after a period of time if the account is not a fee based account(MSn Premium).

Future questions on Hotmail, though not exactly the correct forum, but as close as it gets, should be posted to the microsoft.public.msn.discussion forum rather than this Vista Windows Mail forum.

Here's a link for nntp access instead of the web interface.
