cant seem to get into my windows componets,I keep getting
a "Setup was unable to open information file,
iis.inf.Error code,0x2 at line 2011777033,any idea`s..
 
Hi Robert,

Have you altered the sysoc.inf file? If not, go to Start/Run and type in:
inf. Scroll down to iis, right click, install.
 
Thanks Kelly... the file that I found was iis.pnf
not "inf", that the error was referring to?Also there
wasnt a install component for the file.Also I could not
open this file.It needed help to open.NotePad opened it
but it was not in a readable format.You asked about
altering the sysoc.files,to my knowledge<sic>I havent,
but how can I be sure,did have some ad-ware problems so
system restore was turned off. No restore piont.This is a
new computer,everything was preloaded..supposedly! This
isnt critical but I wondering what other problems are
lurking..I appreciate your help and PATIENCE.Robert

Thanks Kelly... the file that I found was iis.pnf not "inf",

that the error was referring to?

Also there wasnt a install component for the file.

Also I could not open this file.

It needed help to open.

Robert,

For your information, my \INF folder contains *both*
iis.inf [815 kb] and
iis.pnf [949 kb] files
