We installed and ran the beta version on a machine with
2000 and now cannot get it to boot up will not boot into
safe mode either. Any suggestions?

Can you give a sequence of things that happened?

You installed the beta, you ran it. It found some stuff. Any recollection
of what, or how much, or anything? You chose to remove some or all of what
it found.

Was a reboot called for at the end of the cleaning sequence?

If you have a problem as a result of a virus, or it is related to a security
patch, Microsoft provides free PSS help at 1-866-pcsafety, if you are in the
US or Canada. Equivalent help is available elsewhere via your local
Microsoft subsidiary--the call may not be free, however.

I've seen some posts that seem to indicate that this help is sometimes
extending to help with significant spyware problems, but don't have any
confirmation of that.

I'm not the best person to help with Windows 2000 in a no-boot situation, so
I'd advise calling that number, if you're in the right geographic location,
and seeing whether they are willing to take on the job. I would avoid
starting the conversation by mentioning the Microsoft Beta Antispyware,
since that's definitely not supported. However, if the root of the problem
is spyware removal, that may get you some help--not sure.

If that doesn't work, write back, and I'll try to dust off my Windows 2000
troubleshooting skills, or study up on them in the mean time.
