Clipboard is built in so what extra download?
MS were forced to stop issuing their own Java by Sun in a court action, Get
it from Sun instead
XP includes a video playback program, but not a DVD one. It also includes
BASIC video drivers for most cards but you should get the latest from your
video card manufacturer for full functionality
XP was released with DirectX 8. DirectX 9 came out so of course it's an
extra OPTIONAL download.
UDF is not a standardised format. Different writing program treat it
differently so you need the appropriate reader installed.
What the hell is Windows 3.12? There was 3.0, 3.1, 3.11, 3.11 for
Workgroups and then into the Win9x series...

Finally, you've got broadband, stop complaining! It should only take minutes
to download the updates!!

XP should have come with a warning that it is for the
eXPerianced user. There are in fact about a hundred tools
that are hidden on your install disk that don't get put in
by default. I understand what you mean by the clipboard
but it like many of the tools got hidden in
windows\system32. Don't ask me why. That's just the way it
is. XP does take a lot of learning and right out of the
box it will take many hours to configure for your system.
The problem is that computer configurations are limitless
and there is no OS on the market that can have every
driver or cofiguration possibility in it's memory. That
would take up a computer about the size of a room. Kinda
like the very first ones. Keep smiling.
