why when I make a report based on a query with a form question, and it contains a chart using the same query, does it keep asking the question repeatedly???

What is "a form question"? What question are you being asked repeatedly?
From where we are sitting, it is difficult to see your screen ;-)

The system keeps asking me for the dates. Over and over and over again. Doesn't matter if I put the question as a parameter in the query or as a form

Can you post the SQL view of your query? Do you get the prompts when running
the query or just when opening the report?
If you are getting criteria from a form, is the form open?

I thought someone (Ken Snell maybe?) had provided some very accurate and
descriptive instructions on how to use form controls in the criteria of
queries rather than parameter prompts.

Between [Enter Start Date:] And [Enter End Date:]

There is no SQL language in this query. This is how I was taught to ensure
that each date has all their entries counted. You put the table into a
query that counts by date, and groups all other variables. The above is the
criteria for the period in question. The remainder of the variables are
separated out and counted in subsequent queries. I have not needed any SQL
language thus far.
Problem is that when I run this query in a report with a chart based on
the same query it asks the parameter question over and over and over. And
from what I can see, I am not the only one who experiences this. Is there
something I am doing wrong?

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying but...

If your report is based on a query which requires some input (the dates),
then that info must be input before the query results are returned and
usable by
your report.
