Hey, thanks for taking the time to respond. I figured the problem out.
The
Contact folder needed to be added to the e-mail accounts. Even though my
Distribution List was there, in addition to all my contacts, the folder
hadn't been added as an e-mail address book.
Thanks again.

I've often seen DL's created in this fashion fail.
You might need to create the DL from existing Contacts.

When I open the DL within my contacts I see all the people I put in it,
along
with their e-mail addresses and display names.
:
Simply copying a list of email addresses into a DL usually will not
create a
valid DL.
When you open this DL, what do you see?

I copied a list of addresses into File>New>Distribution List from the
Outlook
(2003)toolbar. The error message happens if I try to create a New
Mail
Message from the Contact list. If I create a new mail message from
Outlook
and type in the name of the DL it is not looking to my Contacts to
verify
the
name.
:
State the precise steps that produce that error message and the
exact
content of the message.
State your Outlook version and how you created the DL.

I have created a new Distribution List, which is now in my
Contacts.
When
I
try to create an e-mail for the named Distribution List I get a
message
that
Outlook doesn't recognize the Distribution List.
