Why Won't My Movie Play?? I've Done This Before!

Hello:

I need to insert a movie as part of a PowerPoint project. I know the
general rules for this because I've done it before.

For some reason, though, my movie won't play. When I click on it, the
video image turns white and just sits there. It is a .wmv video, but
I also converted it to an .avi, and this format doesn't work either.

Does anyone know of something that I could check that may be hindering
the video's ability to play?

OK... I fixed my problem (sort of). I vaguely remembered reading
somewhere last year that video wouldn't work if it was buried too
deeply beneath subdirectories. So I copied the folder to my root c:
drive, and everything works fine. This is a terrible solution,
however... I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I disseminate the
project.
