These are the system requirements for the Zoo Tycoon Complete collection
game - doesn't mention anything about running on Vista.

* Microsoft® Windows® 98/Me/XP/2000
* PC with a 233 MHz processor, 300 MHz recommended
* 64 MB of system RAM for Windows 98/ME/2000, 128 MB RAM for Windows XP
* 1.3 GB available hard disk space
* 4x speed or faster CD-ROM drive
* Sound card and speakers or headphones required for audio
* DirectX® 8.0 or later
* Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

They system requirements above are the min specs for running the game; if
you're running Vista, then you'd obviously have a higher-end machine than
the above, just to run Vista itself let alone any games. Given that it can
run on systems as old as Windows 98, maybe it's just not "new enough" to run
on Vista - MS probably don't guarantee that it will do so.

sorry, I didn't see the previous conversation, did you upgrade your video
driver? did you run it in compatibility mode?

Did you check the event logs for any clue? Right-click on "Computer" in the
programs menu and select "manage" then open "event viewer" "windows logs"
and check the application and system logs. See if anything shows up at the
time of the freeze.

Another possibility is to disable your video card 3d effects. Turn off FSAA
and all the other image enhancing effects.

good luck
Mark
