Why won't it download 2.1?

I've been having problems with my movie maker freezing, closing suddenly, and
not responding. I've been reading up on it and it seems like I'm not alone. I
went in to see what version I have and it's 2.0.3312.0. When I go in and
download the latest version it goes through the process and then nothing. I
go back and it's not the 2.1 version. So how do I download 2.1 version? And
will that help with the freezing, closing suddenly, and not responding?

Thanks

There is no download for Movie Maker 2.1,
the only way to install it is to install Windows
XP SP2.

If you are running Windows XP SP2 and
do not have Movie Maker 2.1...you could try
the following article:

What can I do if I upgrade to Windows
XP SP2 and Windows Movie Maker 2.1
is not installed successfully?

Or, you could download and reinstall
Windows XP SP2:

Download Windows XP SP2

Generally, users install from the net but this
site allows you to download the complete
file to your hard drive before installing.

It's good for a network administrator because
you can burn it on a CD and install it on as
many computers as you need to.

And it's good for a single machine because
if you ever need to install it again...you'll have
it available without waiting for a download.

Thank you so much for helping me. Those sites are wonderful and did the job!
Especially for someone who is a bit computer illiterate. I now have 2.1 and
so far so good!

Keep up the good work!
Take care
