Why will my Win2K CD not boot?

I change BIOS to first boot from CD, then pop in CD and
bootup. It gets to the CD and cannot find any boot
files. Everyone keeps saying boot from the CD, boot from
the CD, but it doesn't work. This is a mad house! :)

Possibly you're missing the keystroke at POST (f2, spacebar, etc.)

Perhaps your *copy* of W2K is bad.

I have also seen the problem exist if the CD-ROM drive is SCSI. The BIOS may be looking for an IDE CD-ROM to boot from rather then a SCSI drive. You might also try booting to another bootable CD-ROM to rule out that it is not your W2K CD.

Best bet if this is not the case is to just make the boot Floppies and move forward.
