I received that lovely icon telling me I had a Windows update.
I updated.
Now my "Windows Movie Maker" is nowhere on my Windows XP Media Edition
ANYWHERE!!!

My computer is a Dell.

I have looked in my start menu under all programs - no icon or name listing
Windows Movie Maker.

I used the "Search" feature - no Windows Movie Maker.

My saved movies come up in documents - just no way to create new ones.

I purchased this version of Windows with my "new" computer in Dec '07 so
that I could HAVE windows movie maker.

I have found online places saying you can download it, ...All requiring that
I live in a foreign country, since they do not list the United States in
their menu.

Does ANYONE know how to find the missing program?
NOTE: I am a computer newbie and would need VERY simplistic directions.

Does anyone know where to find help from Microsoft?
(yes, you can stop laughing now.)
I am permenantly disabled on Social Security Disability - I don't have a
spare $60.00 floating around, just to call their number and get told they
don't know what I'm saying.

Can anyone help me???
Thanks.

Peace. --De

========================
Maybe Movie Maker is still intact...

Before you worry about downloading
what will probably be the wrong version...
try the following...

go to...Start / Run...type...
moviemk.exe
then press Enter

This should launch Movie Maker

Usually when updates are added the system creates a restore point. Go to
your restore system and restore it to the point before the update.
