Why undo command does not undo deleted worksheet?

AFAIK no version of Excel will undo a deleted sheet.

The warning message is quite explicit when deleting a sheet.

"Data will be lost"

If you have deleted a sheet, close the workbook without saving.

Hi,

Because Microsoft programmed it that way.

If you save the file before you deleted the sheet, you can close without
saving, or you can call IT to recover the previous days versions.

However, because you can't undo this operation, you get a message which says

"Data may exist in the sheet(s) selected for deletion. To PERMANENTLY
delete the data, press Delete."

permanently, hense no undo. Wouldn't be permanent.

I think I was confused, because since I purchased MS Office 2007 and found
that this has discusting and unefficient GUI, I started to use OpenOffice.org
Calc much more, and Calcs undo works with deleted sheets too. Now, after a
while, I used Excel again and was disappointed, thet the function does not
function there. Because quite frequent use in Calk I was almost sure, that
previous MS Excels had undo function for deleted worksheets too. My mistake!
Just another reason for switching to Calc, as I have not seen any news or
even rumors, that Microsoft will fix that crappy interface!

Actually, none of the sheet commands is undoable (rename, move, etc.). It's just that
delete is a bit more drastic.
