I have just received a 90page PowerPoint document from a client. I unzipped
the file upon receiving and could see large red X's on the pages and not the
information that I was meant to view.
Any ideas?
Do you know what belongs in the space occupied by the red X's? If the
client had references or links to external data such as excel files,
objects, or pictures these would not be available for display unless
they were included.
Did the client just send the powerpoint and not the referenced data?
If so, you may want the client to package the powerpoint in such a way
as all can be seen by someone using another couputer.
You do not mention which version of PowerPoint. In 2003 the client
could click "File" and then "Package for CD" and use that method to
make sure that all of the needed files could be zipped. The "Save As"
function might also prove to be useful, expecially in 2007 where the
client could create an Acrobat file.
I have used the Package to CD function to save the presentation to a
folder on my computer, then zip the folder for sending by e-mail
