The little blocks would be pixels and that
indicates a very low resolution image.

I have had this same problem. I recorded soccer games on my mini dv and transferred them to my computer. After editing it had little blocks. When I burned it to DVD on a DVD recorder it was clear. When I tooke that DVD and put it on the computer it had the little blocks again. Why do I get the blocks only when my computer is involved?

Good question....I'm guessing you are dealing
with a low resolution source file and apparently
the TV processes the information in a different
way than the computer.
