Hello,
I used Image.FromFile method to get lots of images from files, it's very
slow in Windows Vista, but it's fast in Windows XP! could anyone please tell
how to speed in Windows Vista? thank you

In everything XP is much quicker then Vista especially immages.

You never get anything for nothing, so as you want all the additions from
Vista as even more extended security checking then XP, you will have to pay
for that in processing time.

Hi,
There could be several reasons:
Vista eats much amount of graphical stuff from your processor and VGA
card, especially when Aero is active. Also there may be extra security
checks applied on Vista that causes a bottleneck in Vista when
compared to XP.

I have turned off the aero in Vista, but not effect. How to fix it?

OK, Then it may be related to general slowness in Vista, i can't point
out an exact direction here but maybe closing some background
processes and freeing memory a bit may cause a good effect on
performance.

Thanks,

Onur

I found that when I turned offf Aero in Vista the OS was actually slower. I
have never been more sorry about switching to a new OS than with Vista.
That being said I have several apps that show lots of graphics stored in
files and I don't find them to run slower than XP.

I know that, that happens when you become older.

I guess since I will be officially (at least in Canada) a senior citizen in
6 months I can look forward to my workstation just screaming while
processing soon.
