In excel how come we are limited to only 3 condional formatting? an
also data sort? and other things... i would of though that MS would o
updated it since 2000 > 2002 > 2003 but it seems although they haven'
considered it what so ever.

Many Thanks

They're too busy working on features that they think are
important/impressive to most users.

AFAIK, the best way around this is to format the cells via VBA, where
you can test for any number of conditions. Be careful how you write
the code; if you are testing a large number of cells for numerous
conditions, recalculation time can really suffer.

Why indeed..................many of us wonder the same thing...........

You can get more than three, but you have to resort to VBA to do
it...........

Dark,

You can have more than three sorts by sorting lower-order columns first,
then higher-order in another sort. The effect will be as if it had been one
big sort with the second sort doing the top three fields in the dialog box,
and the earlier sort the next three. And even more if you need more than
six.
