What message? Above I see "Re: Why not valid win32 application when all

This doesn't sound like your typical MSMessage.

Please quote the exact message text.

Also, try entering the exact message text, in quotes, into Google. That'll
often take you right to the answer you're after.

Hi Steve..... message is " not valid win32 application". This appears when
trying to open .pps files. Trying complete reload of Microsoft Office at the
moment to see if that helps.

The software is loaded on my desktop with no such problems.

Thanks for interest

Thanks, Mike. Let's try to narrow it down:

Do you have the older PPTViewer installed?

Does the same thing happen if you start PowerPoint then use File, Open to open
the PPS?

I'm not sure about the older version of .ppt viewer or how to tell but I do
know that the same software is installed on my desktop works perfectly. Run
into new problem because by deleting all old MS Office programs for complete
, clean reinstall...... I can no longer use my MS Office 2003 disk which
requires a previous edition to be installed !!!

You cannot win at this game.......

Cheers

It's an upgrade version then? Frustrating, isn't it? My sympathies.

Once that's all back together,

If you get WOW DVM errors or complaints about "not a valid Win32 app" when installing
Office 97 (and possibly when running other programs) it may be because one or more of
these files is missing from \WINNT\System32

Config.nt
Autoexec.nt
Command.com

If so, and if you can, expand them from the windows install CD or if present, from
the \I386 folder on your PC. The compressed files will be named:

config.nt_
autoexec.nt_
command.co_

Use the EXPAND program to uncompress them.
