Why my document that i am typing is showing weird symbols?

I am filling in an application form in word, suddendly i dont know what i
pressed... loads of symbols are everywhere in my document. How i get rid of
it pls?

Use Ctrl+Shft+8 or the ¶ icon (on the Home ribbon or the Standard toolbar)
to toggle the view of these.
